Wes Wilmers' passion for music and movies led to his first job at a stereo store in Topeka, Kansas. After paying his dues in several home electronics stores, and framing houses in the construction industry, he moved to San Diego in 1990 to open a home theater and music systems consulting business. During a project installation he met Steve Folwell from MasterCraft Electric. Recognizing the increasing popularity of high-end home theaters and music systems, Wes and Steve decided to merge their company's capabilities to offer clients a more comprehensive solution for creatiing enhanced home entertainment experiences. Instead of clients hiring several sub-contractors to create an in-home entertainment system, Music & Movies by MasterCraft, Inc. became one of the first one-stop, design-build companies in Southern California. Since the merger, the company also pioneered the first Smart Home in San Diego. Today, Wes is responsible for all the aspects of the business from sales and marketing to design-build and installation.
